Funny Farm Lite

Ok so that gonna be pretty hard to not fall into the cliche “Im having the time of my life…. blablabla…. great country….. blablabla…. so much fun…. blabla…. awesome people”

So just check out the video I filmed and edited in collaboration with Christian Whyte during the Funny Farm Lite and you’ll understand.

By the way the video was projected the last day of the event, I’ve just been too much busy surfing with Håvard and hang out with dolphins…. getting ready for the HEAVY version of the Funny Farm in couple of week !!!

www.D4W.net is born !!!

metal&blue&light effect 1080Hello!
The last two years has been the most creative of my life, for sure. Slowly but steadily developing D4W as a discipline has been a privilige to take part of. It has brought me closer to my friends and made my fly a lot better.

D4W.net has a purpose, to show what is possible in the sport of skydiving and windtunnel flying. The site is not here for us, it is here for the athletes. We want to promote them and promote the events we organize. How. First of all we want to work with people that want to do something awesome for the sport. We want to organize kick ass events and keep developing the discipline.

Important key factors:-New competition concept
-Broadcasting
-Live judging

Maybe the biggest challenge will be to get people to work together. The sport needs more athletes. Now is the time to start teams, train, organize events, share experiences and learn to really fly.

Have fun!

Off to Australia with Alex

USA DYN4MIC trip

Me and Håvard just came back from a Dynamic work shop in Eloy and a week of traning in Paraclete XP. We had the chance to fly with lot of different flyers, multiple world champion with years of experience, super skilled new school flyer, tunnel rats with thousands and thousands hours of tunnel, and some really commited students…. it’s so nice to see so much excitement and positive energy around the D4W concept. As soon as people start to fly it, they are hooked !!!

And play with the paraclete staff in the 16feet was KING. There is a very special energy in this place, same as Bottrop in matter of dedication towards flying but mainly focus on tricks, instead lines. It was also the perfect place and time to experiment the new D4W dive pool, rich from all the “Battle of Bottrop” experience and from countless hours of talking with lot of flyers, the new dive pool is technical and fun, everything connect in a smart way and make total sense. We’ll be ready soon to release it.

Today we are back in Bottrop, flying with students and David & Aurel from the Bottrop Bulls, it feels so nice to be back “Home”  in the cleanest, smoothest tunnel ever. Thank you Bottrop Thank you !!!

Here a short clip with myself doing random stuff….

This is not skydiving but….

tommy-carroll

This is not skydiving but this guy offers us a perfect lesson about positive attitude towards the learning process, wich is sometimes one of the most difficult things to learn but absolutely necessary for an efficient progression. Something that everybody should keep in mind when you fuck up a move in the tunnel or do a bad job during a jump. Stay positive and try harder !!!

Voss Ventus

Our friends, Voss Ventus, the team who won the Battle of Bottrop asked Andreas Johannessen to film and edit a video clip from them training. The result is one of the best tunnel video I saw, with a perfect balance beetwen high flying skill, professionnel production and great understanding of the sport !!!

Winter time: such a boring life !!!

Additional information:

All the camps in Bottrop are one on one coaching. Except the 12th/16th december: It’s just before the Battle of Bottrop,  so this camp is dedicated to do some 4way with Havard, Raph and Juju (4speed) my team mates for the battle.

The camps in Eloy will be in collaboration with Håvard, Petter Jönsson and Matt Hill (Krystal). This is a mixed tunnel and skydive camp. The plan is to do some “Nordic Meet” kind of flying: no holding hands :) Only 8 slots per camp: one coach for two students !!! more info here.

St Petersburg:
in November: one on one coaching, contact Bjørnar Knutsen for more info
in march: one on one coaching but I’ll be there with Håvard, so dynamic 4way is possible.

Feel free to write me for whatever you want: more info, more dates or just to say Hello.

Håvard and Alex awesome trip….. again

Few weeks ago me and Håvard went to the Ukraine to visit our friend Dima, to learn how to surf….. I know there is no sea or ocean in Ukraine but there is no dropzone in Bottrop and it’s definitely one of the best place to learn how to skydive. Wake surf is to surf what wind tunnel is for skydive! A specific boat creates a wave big enough to surf, you start with a rope and as soon as you can, you drop the rope and follow the boat. Absolutely awesome… we can surf !!! Huge thanks to Dima, or BoDhima as we now call him, for a epic visit in Kiev!

After the wake surf we went to Rumania for the TNT Brothers Boogie. When you know how skydiving works in Romania, it’s absolutely amazing to see what those brothers have managed to set up. The general freefly skill is improving and it is gonna be pretty hard to beat them when it comes to positive energy and making stuff happen. A dropzone full of potiental, and recommended destination.

Cherry on top, they organized some acrobatic flight with some world class pilot for us…. If you ever get the chance to fly an Extra plane, with preferably a Rumanian pilot, DO IT! An unforgettable experience !!!
